Quincy University Hawks

Career (2023-26): Kersten spent four seasons with the Hawks, appearing in 39 games with 34 starts. He totaled three career points on one goal and two assists while adding three shots, all of which were on goal. Defensively, Kersten recorded 56 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers during his time at Quincy, establishing himself as a consistent presence on the back end of the Hawks’ defense.

2026 (Senior): Kersten started all 13 games for the Hawks during his senior season, continuing to anchor Quincy’s defensive unit. He recorded 29 ground balls and ranked second on the team with 18 caused turnovers while also adding two points on one goal and one assist.

Kersten scored the first goal of his collegiate career against Holy Family (3/16/26). He picked up a season-high six ground balls against Lynn (3/9/26) and recorded three games with three caused turnovers.

2025 (Junior): Kersten started all 11 games for the Hawks during his junior season, continuing to be a steady presence on the defensive end. He recorded 17 ground balls and caused seven turnovers on the year. Kersten also recorded the first point of his collegiate career with an assist in Quincy’s win over Davenport (2/8/25).

2024 (Sophomore): Kersten appeared in 13 games with nine starts during his sophomore season with the Hawks. He recorded 11 ground balls and caused four turnovers, continuing to earn a larger role in Quincy’s defensive unit.

2023 (Freshman): Kersten appeared in two games with one start during his freshman season with the Hawks. Kersten made his collegiate debut against Lake Erie (2/12/23), gaining his first collegiate experience with Quincy.

Personal: Kersten travels east to Quincy from Aurora, Colorado, where he graduated from Rangeview High School. Ian is the son of Angela Chambers and David Kersten.
