Sam Bledsoe enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Quincy University men's basketball program in 2026-27.
Bledsoe comes to Quincy after spending two seasons as a graduate assistant with the Southeast Missouri State University men's basketball program from 2024-26. During his first season with the Redhawks, Bledsoe helped SEMO capture the 2024-25 Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship.
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Bledsoe has worked extensively in individual skill development with players ranging from the junior high to collegiate levels.
A native of Charleston, Missouri, Bledsoe began his collegiate playing career at Southwestern Illinois College, competing as a guard from 2020-22 before transferring to the University of Missouri-St. Louis for his final two seasons. During his time at UMSL, Bledsoe was part of the Tritons' run to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.
Bledsoe previously enjoyed a standout career at Charleston High School, helping the program reach the MSHSAA Final Four in three consecutive seasons from 2018-20. He earned MSHSAA All-State honors in 2020 and finished his career as Charleston's record holder for 3-pointers made in both a single season and a career.
Bledsoe earned his associate degree from Southwestern Illinois College in 2022 before graduating from UMSL with a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 2024.
Bledsoe is the son of Jason and Stephanie Bledsoe and has two siblings, Ben and Hannah. His late younger brother, JJ, passed away following a battle with brain cancer. In his honor, the Bledsoe family established the JJ Bledsoe – Keep Moving Forward Foundation, which provides financial and spiritual support to families throughout Southeast Missouri navigating childhood cancer.
Bledsoe is engaged to Alexis Allstun, who played collegiate basketball at Missouri Baptist University from 2019-23. Outside of basketball, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending Mass, working out, and golfing. He is a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals.
