Quincy University Hawks

Personal: Mykal Johnson, from Ankeny, Iowa, is a graduate of Ankeny High School, where he was a key contributor in football and track for the Hawks while also being heavily involved in leadership roles through FCA, the MVP leadership program, student leadership, and the equity group. His athletic accomplishments include being a two-time 5A state runner-up in track and football. The son of Michael and Regina Johnson, he enjoys reading, listening to music, playing video games, sleeping, trying new things, and playing chess. A fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Mykal's favorite athletes are LeBron James, Odell Beckham Jr., Jalen Ramsey, Darrelle Revis, and Richard Sherman.

Why QU?
I chose QU because I thought it had great unity between the team, and I respected the way Coach Killday turns boys into men and holds people accountable. I was attracted by the grind and working for everything, and the idea of striving for greatness.
