Jesse Salazar

Jesse Salazar will be entering his second season as Tight Ends Coach for the Quincy University football team after joining the staff in July of 2022.

In the Fall of 2022, the Salazar-led Tight End unit assisted the Hawks in becoming the 12th passing and 23rd scoring offense in the country, while also improving in every Tight End statistical category from the season prior. Salazar mentored redshirt sophomore Hans Wisnewski into becoming the leading in-conference receiving Tight End and Quincy University's first All-GLVC Tight End honoree in five seasons.

Salazar came to Quincy University after having spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons working with Quarterbacks, Receivers, and Tight Ends and serving as Offensive Coordinator at Poway High School in San Diego, California.

In his time at Poway High School, Coach Salazar guided the Titans offense to a .75 win percentage with two consecutive Palomar League Championships, including an undefeated season, a 35-point scoring average, and a Poway High School single-game rushing record of
358 rushing yards, which still stands. In two seasons, Salazar produced many All-Palomar League award-winners and many college football players.

Prior to Poway High School, Coach Salazar spent four seasons coaching at his alma mater, Ramona High School in Southern California. In his first two seasons, Salazar worked as the Assistant Offensive Line coach. Salazar was soon promoted to Quarterbacks and Running
Backs coach as well as Co-Offensive Coordinator. While at Ramona High School, Salazar was a part of three league championships including a 10-0 undefeated Palomar League Championship season and a San Diego Section CIF Championship appearance.

Apart from the work Coach Salazar has done with Quincy University, Poway High School, and Ramona High School, he also served as Offensive Line and Quarterbacks coach for Brady Performance camps and events, a private football training organization based out of San Diego,California. In addition, Salazar also served as the North Team Wide Receiver coach and Co-Offensive Coordinator for the 2021 Annual Alex Spanos All-Star Classic game in 2021 when Salazar’s North squad defeated the South 35-6.

Coach Jesse Salazar is pursuing a B.S. in Sports Management.
