Cal Benson

Cal Benson enters his second season (2019) at Quincy University. He joined the coaching staff in 2018 as the wide receivers coach and will make the switch to running backs during the 2019 campaign.

Prior to Quincy, Benson attended Central Methodist University where he played quarterback and studied physical education. He started his coaching career at CMU as a student assistant working with the offense.

Benson transferred to Missouri State University during his junior year and joined the coaching staff as a student assistant working with the offense, as well as the equipment manager.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Missouri State in 2018.

During his time at CMU and Missouri State, Benson was an active member of the United States Army Reserves as a Transportation Specialist spending time in Eastern Europe and multiple locations throughout the United States.

He is the son of Scott and Maureen Benson of St. Peters, Missouri, and is the oldest of three children. His brother Lee was a four-year captain with the Missouri Baptist lacrosse team and his sister Janelle is entering her senior season on the volleyball team at MacMurray College. He enjoys being with his family, attending sporting events, and working with youth football programs to teach safe football techniques.
