2026 (Redshirt Sophomore): Birkenmeier appeared in four games during his redshirt sophomore season, primarily serving as a defensive replacement at catcher. He made his collegiate debut in a 26-5 win over Truman State (3/8/26) and finished the year with two at-bats, where he went 0-2.

Personal: Sam Birkenmeier is a native of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, and a graduate of St. Dominic High School. He is the son of David and Rebecca Birkenmeier and has one sister, Anna. During his time at St. Dominic, Birkenmeier graduated Cum Laude. Outside of baseball, he enjoys lifting weights and playing video games. His favorite athlete is Yadier Molina, and he is a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs.
