He struck out 65 batters across 56.1 innings and recorded a season-high 12 strikeouts in an 8–0 win over Illinois Valley Community College, throwing six scoreless innings.

2022 (Freshman at Rock Valley): Sell appeared in 11 games and made eight starts, totaling 44.0 innings with a 4–4 record, a 3.89 ERA, and a 1.48 WHIP while striking out 60 batters. He made his collegiate debut against Southwestern Illinois (2/28/22), throwing four innings with four strikeouts, and earned his first career win by tossing three scoreless innings against Roosevelt University JV (3/15/22).
