Personal: Attending St. Teresa High School, Matthew Brummer comes to Quincy from Decatur, Illinois. At St. Teresa, he was stellar in the classroom and on the field. Academically, he was a first-team academic all-state, valedictorian, and an Illinois State Scholar. As an athlete, Brummer was a first-team all-state football player and won the Class 2A State Football Championship. On the baseball field, he once had four doubles in one game, which tied the state record. His favorite athletes are Matt Holiday and Nolan Arenado, and he enjoys watching the St Louis Cardinals. His parents are Mark and Jennifer, and his siblings are Morgan, Joe, and Julianne. Matthew’s uncle, Jeff Brummer, attended Quincy University in 1996.
