2026 (Freshman): Koozer made an immediate impact in her first season with the Hawks, appearing in 52 games with 51 starts as the team’s primary center fielder. She led Quincy with a .303 batting average, .384 on-base percentage, 46 hits, and 28 runs scored. Koozer also added four doubles, two triples, 14 RBIs, 19 walks, one hit by pitch, and went 7-for-9 in stolen base attempts.
She made her collegiate debut in game one against Kentucky Wesleyan (2/6/26), drawing three walks. In game two, Koozer recorded her first collegiate hit, extra-base hit, stolen base, and RBI, going 2-for-3 with a triple, one RBI, one stolen base, and four runs scored. She finished the season with 15 multi-hit games.

Personal: Makala Koozer is a native of Gretna, Nebraska, and a graduate of Gretna High School. She is the daughter of Todd and Kandis Koozer and has three siblings: Jordan Wilson, Katelyn Sader, and Kelsey Ponio. Koozer excelled in the classroom, graduating summa cum laude and earning membership in the National Honor Society.
On the field, Koozer was part of a highly successful Gretna program, helping lead the team to a Nebraska Class A State Championship, along with Metro Conference, Eastern Midlands Conference, and District Championships. During the fall 2024 season, Gretna finished 38-0 and earned a No. 1 national ranking from the NFCA. Individually, Koozer earned Class A State Honorable Mention, Eastern Midlands All-Conference, Omaha World-Herald Class A Honorable Mention, NCPA Academic All-State, and Metro Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors. She also competed at the club level with Primetime.
Outside of athletics, Koozer enjoys shopping, golfing, playing pickleball, working out, boating, and tubing. She is a fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Colorado Avalanche.
