The Quincy University baseball team named Anthony Gongaware as the new baseball graduate assistant coach in August 2014.  Gongaware will serve as the head junior varsity coach and the assistant pitching coach.  Gongaware was an assistant baseball coach at Covenant Christian High School in Indianapolis this past season.  

Gongaware was an assistant coach at Covenant Christian High School in Indianapolis last season where he developed a training plan and post-game recovery plan for pitchers.  Gongaware worked with the pitching staff and coached a no-hitter in the Indiana State Playoffs.  Covenant Christian had an All-City Tournament Team selection, two All-City Second Team selections, and and All-City Honorable Mention last season.  CCHS won the Indiana Sectional 44 Title.  

Gongaware attended Olivet Nazarene University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education in 2010.

Off the diamond, Gongaware is known for his involvement in youth ministry.  Gongaware was the Olivet Nazarene campus huddle leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter on campus.  After graduating from Olivet Nazarene, Gongaware was the director of youth ministry at Vermont St. United Methodist Church in Quincy, Ill. for three years.  He then moved to Indianapolis where he was the interim director of youth ministry for Avon United Methodist Church for the past year.

Gongaware is attending classes to get his master's of education with a concentration in leadership.
