Quincy University Hawks

2026 (Sophomore): Nielsen appeared in 23 games and made 17 starts during her sophomore season. She hit .139 with a .162 on-base percentage and a .194 slugging percentage, recording two doubles, three RBIs, and two runs scored.

Nielsen collected the first hit of her collegiate career with a single in game one against Columbia College (3/8/26). She later picked up her first career RBIs and extra-base hits in a doubleheader against Upper Iowa (3/21/26).

2025 (Freshman): Nielsen appeared in three games during her first season with the Hawks. She made her collegiate debut as a pinch hitter against Indianapolis (3/8/25), where she was hit by a pitch in her first career at-bat.

Personal: Catherine Nielsen is a native of Itasca, Illinois, and a graduate of Lake Park High School. She is the daughter of Peggy and Paul Nielsen. Her brother, Michael Nielsen, played baseball at Quincy University from 2016 to 2021. During her high school career, Nielsen helped Lake Park capture the 2023 Class 4A Sectional Championship. Outside of athletics, she enjoys spending time outdoors, going on walks with her dog, and swimming.
