Personal: Sessions is from Little Rock, Arkansas, and graduated from North Little Rock High School, where he competed in both football and wrestling for the Charging Wildcats. He began his collegiate career at Hannibal-LaGrange before transferring to Quincy University.

At North Little Rock, Sessions was a leader in both sports, serving as wrestling team captain during his junior and senior seasons and football team captain as a senior. On the football field, he helped lead the Charging Wildcats to three straight 7A state championship game appearances, a 7A conference championship in 2018, and state runner-up finishes in 2018, 2019, and 2020.

On the mat, Sessions put together a record-setting career. He was a three-time state qualifier, earned all-conference honors as a junior and senior, and held school records for most matches in a season, most escapes, and most reversals. He also ranked in the top 10 in program history for takedowns and matches won, finished his career with a .679 winning percentage, and earned a spot on the Arkansas National Wrestling Team after placing at the regional qualifying tournament as a senior. Sessions also became the first wrestler in North Little Rock history to sign an athletic scholarship.

Sessions earned Most Dedicated Wrestler honors for three straight years in high school and later received the Champions of Character Award while competing in sprint football at Quincy. In the classroom, he graduated high school with a 3.5 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Athletics also run in his family, as his father, Ray, played football at the University of Central Arkansas, where he was a four-time Academic All-American, all-conference center, and senior-year captain. Jonathan is the son of Ray and Sandra Sessions and has four sisters: Bethany, Brittany, Bailey, and Brooklyn.

Outside of athletics, Sessions enjoys spending time with friends and watching sports. His favorite athletes include Peyton Manning, Derrick Henry, Aaron Judge, Nick Saban, and Bryce Young, and he supports the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ole Miss Rebels, New York Yankees, and Tennessee Titans. After graduation, Sessions hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps by pursuing a career in coaching, with the goal of serving as a graduate assistant in college football.
