Biography
2024 (Junior): As a junior, Travon appeared in six games, where he rushed 13 times for 94 yards to go along with 72 reception yards on five catches. He also returned four kicks for 159 yards, including a 73-yard return against Walsh (10/5/24). Hegler-Wright scored his first touchdown with a six-yard rush against St. Mary-of-the-Woods (9/21/24).Â
2023 (Sophomore): In his first season with the Hawks, Travon rushed for 339 yards on 59 attempts, good for 5.7 yards per carry across eight games. He also caught four passes for 13 yards and returned one kickoff for 11 yards. He made his debut in a Hawk uniform against Fontbonne (9/14/23), where he rushed for 21 yards on three attempts. Hegler-Wright had a season-high 138 yards on 22 attempts in a win over Oakland City (10/28/23).
2022 (Freshman at Anderson): In his first collegiate season, Travon saw action in seven games for the Ravens on their football squad, where he rushed for 41 yards on 17 attempts to go along with four receptions for 13 yards. He also returned 13 kickoffs for a total of 293 yards, good for 22.5 yards per return. Hegler-Wright made his collegiate debut against DePauw (9/10/22), where he rushed five times for 19 yards.Â
Personal:Â Travon Hegler-Wright is from Indianapolis, Indiana, and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in Fortville, where he played for the Marauders. He is the son of Gwendelle Wright. A consistent honor roll student, Travon was a standout on the field as well. His accomplishments include being a Class 4A State Champion, a 1,000-yard rusher, earning All-MIC Underclassmen honors, being named First Team All-County, and finishing 2nd in the MIC in rushing yards. His senior season stats include 1,020 rushing yards, 1,068 all-purpose yards, seven touchdowns, and an impressive 7.8 yards per carry. Travon began his collegiate football career at Anderson University (Indiana) before transferring to Quincy University. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games and hanging out with friends. His favorite athlete is Chris Johnson, and he supports the Seattle Seahawks.
