INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Quincy University linebacker Jordan Elmore has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday, following a career performance against Roosevelt University.

Despite the Hawks falling 41-28 in Saturday's home opener at QU Stadium, Elmore was all over the field defensively, setting a new career high with 17 tackles, including five solo stops and 12 assists. He also recorded 2.5 tackles for loss for six yards, forced a fumble, and added a quarterback hurry.

The performance continued a strong start to Elmore's first season in a Quincy uniform after transferring from Siena Heights University. He has reached double-digit tackles in each of his first two games as a Hawk and now leads the way with 27 tackles and 4.0 tackles for loss through the opening two weeks of the season.

The honor marks the first GLVC Defensive Player of the Week award of Elmore's career. He becomes the first Hawk to earn the conference's weekly defensive honor since Brock Inman received the award on October 13 of last season.

Elmore and the Hawks will have a bye this week before returning to action for Homecoming and their GLVC opener against Lincoln University of Missouri on Saturday, September 19, at 1:00 PM from QU Stadium.
