DETROIT, Mich. – Quincy University women's volleyball senior middle blocker Erin Matzke was named to the Warrior Invitational All-Tournament Team following a strong individual showing across four matches this past weekend in Detroit.

Although the Hawks did not come away with the weekend they had hoped for, finishing the tournament with a 1-3 record, Matzke stood out on both sides of the net to earn Quincy's spot on the All-Tournament Team.

The Olathe, Kansas native, now in her fourth season with the Hawks, appeared in all 15 sets across the four matches and totaled 26 kills while averaging 1.73 kills per set. Matzke hit .184 for the weekend while adding three assists and two digs.

Her biggest impact came at the net defensively, where she led Quincy with 16 total blocks, including five solo blocks and 11 block assists. Her 1.07 blocks per set also paced the Hawks during the tournament.

Matzke finished the weekend with 36.5 total points, averaging 2.43 points per set, which ranked second on the team behind freshman Olivia Curry.

Her best performance of the tournament came against host Wayne State, as Matzke recorded a weekend-high 10 kills in the four-set match. She added an assist, two digs and six total blocks to finish with 14 points.

Matzke and the Hawks will look to bounce back from their 1-3 opening weekend when they travel to Lawton, Oklahoma, for the Cameron Invitational.

Quincy will once again play four matches in two days, beginning Friday, September 4 against Minot State at 10:00 AM and Northeastern State at 4:00 PM. The Hawks close out the tournament Saturday, September 5 against host Cameron at 11:00 AM and Newman at 3:00 PM.
