KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Quincy University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Rockhurst University on Friday afternoon in a GLVC matchup at the Plaza Tennis Center.
Rockhurst secured the doubles point by winning the No. 1 and No. 2 courts. Quincy's lone doubles victory came at No. 3, where
Cristobal Tellez and
Gerard Abad Puig earned a 7-5 win. The win marked the fourth straight doubles victory for the duo.
In singles play, the Hawks picked up two points.
Inigo Villacampa earned a straight-set win at No. 1 singles, taking a 7-6, 6-2 decision over Alex Tikhonov.
David Eusamio added the second point with a hard-fought three-set victory at No. 6. Rockhurst claimed the remaining singles matches, including three that went the distance, to secure the team result.
The Hawks will be back in action on April 25 against William Jewell in a crucial matchup as they look to clinch a spot in the GLVC Tournament.
