QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University women's tennis team dropped its third straight match Friday afternoon, falling 5-2 to Southwest Baptist at the Quincy Racquet Club.
Prior to the match, the Hawks honored seniors
Mahi Panchal,
Brittney Kelly, and
Anna Matino as part of Senior Day festivities.
Southwest Baptist claimed the doubles point by winning the top two courts, despite Quincy earning a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles behind
Sofia Tesic and
Brittney Kelly.
The Hawks picked up two points in singles play.
Maria Sarria earned a win by retirement at No. 2 singles, while Tesic delivered a straight-set 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 5.
Southwest Baptist secured the remaining singles matches to claim the team result. Panchal's seven-match singles winning streak came to an end with a loss at No. 1 singles.
The Hawks will be back in action tomorrow, April 11, at 10:00 AM against Drury.
