HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Quincy University men's tennis team dropped its second consecutive match, falling 5-2 to regional foe Hillsdale College on Tuesday evening.
The Chargers claimed the doubles point by winning two of the three courts. Quincy's lone doubles victory came at No. 2, where Rodrigo Coello and
Patricio Jimenez earned a 6-3 win.
In singles play, the Hawks picked up two points. At the top spot,
Inigo Villacampa continued his strong run, battling back to win in three sets, 0-6, 6-2, 10-6, securing his sixth consecutive singles victory.
Alvaro Rueda added the other point for Quincy with a three-set comeback win at No. 6 singles. Hillsdale secured victories at Nos. 2, 3, 4, and 5 singles to clinch the team result.
With the loss, Quincy moves to 9-4 on the season. The Hawks will be back in action on Wednesday, March 18, when they take on Asbury University.
