PELLA, Iowa - The Quincy University men's tennis team extended its winning streak to four matches Friday afternoon with a 5-2 victory over Central College at the H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse.
Quincy established control early by sweeping all three doubles courts to secure the opening point. The tandems of
Gerard Abad Puig &
Inigo Villacampa,
Gael Castro &
David Eusamio, and
Rodrigo Coello Trevino &
Patricio Jimenez each earned 6-2 victories.
In singles play, the Hawks collected four wins to seal the team result. Eusamio earned a straight-set victory at No. 2, while freshmen
Jakub Pasielak and
Carlos Santana recorded their first career singles victories with wins at Nos. 4 and 6, respectively.
Patricio Jimenez also added a win at No. 5 to complete Quincy's scoring. Central claimed the points at Nos. 1 and 3 singles.
With the victory, Quincy improves to 8-2 on the season and pushes its winning streak to four. The Hawks will look to continue their winning ways Sunday when they host Roosevelt University at 12:30 p.m. at the Quincy Racquet Club.
