CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. – The Quincy University women's tennis team earned a 4-1 victory over Judson University on February 22 at the Crystal Lake Tennis Club.
Judson claimed the No. 1 doubles match, but the Hawks responded to secure the doubles point.
Maria Sarria and
Anna Matino earned a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles, while
Sofia Tesic and
Heidi Navas picked up a win by forfeit at No. 3 to give Quincy the early advantage.
Quincy continued its momentum in singles play, capturing three courts to clinch the team victory.
Mahi Panchal posted a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles, Sarria added a win at No. 4, and Tesic dominated at No. 5 with a straight-set shutout.
Judson earned its lone point at No. 2 singles, while matches at Nos. 3 and 6 were left unfinished.
With the win, the Hawks improve to 5-3 on the season. Quincy will return to action Sunday, March 1, when they host the Roosevelt University Lakers.
