CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. – The Quincy University men's tennis team earned a 5-1 road victory over Judson University on February 22 at the Crystal Lake Tennis Club.
Quincy took control early by sweeping all three doubles courts to secure the opening point. The No. 1 duo of
Inigo Villacampa and
Enrique Doldan, along with the No. 2 team of
Cristobal Tellez and
Gerard Abad Puig, and the No. 3 pairing of
David Eusamio and
Gael Castro, each posted 6-2 wins.
The Hawks continued their strong play in singles competition, claiming four victories. Villacampa and Doldan earned straight-set wins at Nos. 1 and 2, while Abad Puig battled to a 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 4. Eusamio added a three-set comeback victory at No. 5 to help seal the team result.
Judson picked up its lone point at No. 3 singles, while the No. 6 match went unfinished.
With the win, Quincy improves to 7-2 on the season. The Hawks will be back in action Friday, February 27, when they travel to face Central College. First serve is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
