WESTVILLE, Ind. – The Quincy University STUNT team traveled to H.D. Kesling Gymnasium on Saturday and dropped a pair of contests, falling 18-11 to Lewis University before coming up short against host Purdue Northwest, 25-5.
Match 1: Lewis 18 - Quincy 11
Quincy and Lewis opened the day with a tightly contested first quarter, as the Flyers edged ahead 2-1. The Hawks responded in the second quarter, turning in their strongest stretch of the match by outscoring Lewis 4-3 to take a brief lead at halftime.
Lewis regained control in the third quarter, using a 5-2 advantage to move back in front. The Flyers sealed the match in the fourth quarter, posting eight points while Quincy added four to account for the 18-11 final.
Match 2: Purdue Northwest 25 - Quincy 5
The Hawks opened the second match on even footing with the Pride, battling to a 4-4 tie in the first quarter. Purdue Northwest created separation in the second quarter with a 5-2 edge and continued to build momentum in the third, limiting Quincy to a scoreless frame while adding four points.
The Pride put the match out of reach in the fourth quarter, recording 12 points to Quincy's two to secure the 25-5 decision.
Quincy returns to action Sunday, February 15, with a pair of matches at Neil Carey Arena in Romeoville, Illinois. The Hawks will face Ferris State at 10:00 AM before taking on Trevecca Nazarene at 1:45 PM.
