Quincy established its presence early, working to create opportunities while defending against Drury's attacking pressure. Both teams looked to find an opening in the first half, with the Hawks recording three shots and Drury producing 10 attempts.
Quincy goalkeeper
Libby Kamp was called into action several times, making four saves in the opening half to keep Drury off the scoreboard.
Drury created a dangerous stretch midway through the half, putting multiple shots on target and forcing Kamp to make consecutive saves. With just over 11 minutes remaining before halftime, Drury's Leah McDonald struck a shot that hit the crossbar, giving the Panthers another close opportunity to take the lead.
Quincy's defense held firm through the pressure, and the Hawks continued working to find their own opening.
That opportunity came in the 44th minute. After earning a free kick following a Drury foul, Quincy moved forward and capitalized on its chance. Oberschmid found the back of the net with a low shot to the right side at 43:26, giving the Hawks a 1-0 lead and Oberschmid her 3rd goal of the season.
