Rheinheimer Leads Hawks with a Hat Trick Against Lincoln

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo - Quincy women's soccer delivered a dominant performance on Sunday afternoon, defeating Lincoln University 6-0 on the road in Jefferson City, Missouri.

The Hawks received a hat trick from Rebecca Rheinheimer, her second of the season, while Claudia Andreu scored her first goal in a Quincy uniform and Lucy Thomas added the second goal of her Quincy career.

With the victory, Quincy improved to 7-3-6 overall and 7-2-4 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, and climbed into fourth place in the conference standings.

1st Half

Quincy wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Just 1:56 into the contest, Rheinheimer found the back of the net to put the Hawks ahead 1-0. The early goal set the tone for a first half in which Quincy consistently pressured the Lincoln defense and created scoring opportunities.

The Hawks doubled their lead in the ninth minute when Rheinheimer scored again at 9:18. Daniella Segall and Jessie Newton assisted on the play, combining to set up Rheinheimer for her second goal of the afternoon.

Quincy continued to push forward, and Rheinheimer completed her hat trick at 19:50, finishing a chance created by Newton to extend the advantage to 3-0.

The three goals gave Rheinheimer her second hat trick of the season and continued a remarkable stretch in which she has scored eight times across Quincy's last three matches.

Quincy remained aggressive throughout the remainder of the opening half, putting additional pressure on the Lincoln goalkeeper and generating several more chances. The Hawks added their fourth goal at 43:54 on an own goal credited to Lincoln, sending Quincy into halftime with a commanding 4-0 lead.

The first-half statistics reflected Quincy's control. The Hawks recorded eight shots compared to Lincoln's three and earned four corner kicks while limiting the hosts to one.

2nd Half

The Hawks carried their momentum into the second half, continuing to dictate play and create opportunities in the attacking third.

Quincy earned 13 corner kicks after halftime alone, repeatedly putting pressure on the Lincoln defense. The Hawks also limited Lincoln to just one shot in the second half, helping maintain the shutout.

After creating several chances following the break, Quincy added its fifth goal in the 73rd minute. Andreu found the back of the net at 72:40, with Newton recording her third assist of the afternoon. The goal marked Andreu's first in a Quincy uniform, adding another highlight to an already productive afternoon for the Hawks.

Quincy continued to attack late in the match, and Thomas added to the lead in the 86th minute. Thomas scored off an assist from Ashley Davis to make it 6-0.

The goal was the second of Thomas's Quincy career and capped off the scoring for the Hawks.

Quincy Controls the Numbers

Quincy finished the match with a decisive statistical advantage, outshooting Lincoln 22-4 and putting 15 shots on target compared to three for the hosts. The Hawks also held a 17-2 advantage in corner kicks, including a 13-1 edge in the second half.

Quincy goalkeeper Libby Kamp played all 90 minutes and recorded three saves to secure the shutout. The teams finished even in fouls at seven apiece, and no cards were issued during the contest.

The six-goal performance showcased Quincy's offensive depth, with Rheinheimer leading the way with three goals, Andreu and Thomas each finding the net, and an own goal accounting for another score.

Newton finished with three assists, while Segall and Davis also contributed assists in the win. Newton continues to lead the conference in assists with 17 compared to the second place leader with 6.

Kamp and the Quincy defense completed the shutout by limiting Lincoln to just four total shots.

The Hawks' latest result strengthens their postseason position as they continue their push toward the GLVC Tournament. The final regular season game for Quincy will be on Wednesday, October 21st hosted by Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. The match is set to start at 5:00 PM.
