LIBERTY, Mo. – Quincy jumped back into the win column in emphatic fashion on Saturday afternoon, using an explosive opening quarter to pull away early and cruise to a 70–52 road victory over William Jewell inside the Mabee Center. The win marked the Hawks' eighth straight victory over the Cardinals in the all-time series.
Quincy wasted no time asserting control, opening the game on an 11–4 run behind efficient shooting and aggressive defense.
Blair Eftink continued her strong perimeter play from the previous game, knocking down an early three-pointer as part of a quick start for the Hawks. Quincy dominated both ends of the floor throughout the opening period, closing the quarter on another 11–4 run to take a commanding 22–8 lead after one.
In the opening 10 minutes, the Hawks shot 57.1 percent from the field, including 2-of-3 from three-point range, while holding William Jewell to just 3-of-12 shooting and forcing six turnovers.
The Hawks' offense slowed slightly to begin the second quarter, but Quincy continued to control the game defensively.
Katey Flynn found success in the paint, scoring her 10th point of the half to keep the Hawks firmly in front. Quincy closed the half strong with an 8–2 run, highlighted by continued scoring from Eftink and Flynn and a three-point play from
