QUINCY, Ill.- Quincy University women's basketball has unveiled its 2025-26 schedule, the first under new head coach and QU alum
Ali Schwagmeyer-Belger. The slate features a Division I opener, high-profile non-conference battles, and a full grind of GLVC competition.
The Hawks tip off their season on the road with a challenging matchup against Division I Western Illinois on October 28. Two weeks later, QU will travel to Kirksville, Missouri, for the GLVC/G-MAC Crossover, facing Cedarville University on November 14 before matching up with Ursuline College on November 15.
The home opener comes with the annual Hansen-Spear Classic, where the Hawks will host Missouri Southern on November 21 and Purdue Northwest on November 22 inside Pepsi Arena. The matchup against Missouri Southern marks the first meeting since 2016 and only the sixth overall, with QU looking to earn its first victory in program history after going 0-5 in previous meetings dating back to 1991.
After the home opener, QU makes a quick road trip for a Tuesday night contest at Emporia State, a matchup that will also feature a first-year head coach on the sidelines, as MJ Baker begins her tenure with the Hornets.
December marks the beginning of GLVC action, with the Hawks hosting Upper Iowa (December 1), Missouri S&T (December 4), and Drury (December 6). QU will close out its non-conference slate on December 13 against the reigning Division II national champions, Grand Valley State, a team that ended the Hawks' season a year ago in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The 2025 calendar wraps up on the road with a return trip to Kirksville to face Truman State on December 20.
The new year brings the grind of GLVC play, beginning with a road swing at UMSL (January 2) and Lincoln (January 4). Quincy returns home to host UIS (January 8) and Indianapolis (January 10) before a one-game road trip to Upper Iowa on January 15. After a week off, the Hawks will rematch Truman State at Pepsi Arena on January 22, followed by a road trip to William Jewell on January 24. QU closes the month at home, squaring off against Rockhurst on January 28 and Southwest Baptist on January 31.
February begins with a two-game road stretch at Drury (February 5) and Missouri S&T (February 7) before returning home to host Lincoln (February 12) and UMSL (February 14). Down the stretch, QU will see Maryville (February 19) and McKendree (February 21) for the first time this season, both on the road. The Hawks' senior day and final home game will be against Lewis on February 26, a marquee matchup against last year's GLVC regular-season champions, who posted a dominant 19-1 conference record. QU will then close out the regular season on the road at Indianapolis on February 28.
With Schwagmeyer-Belger at the helm, the Hawks will look to build on the momentum of their historic 2024-25 campaign as they enter a new era of Quincy women's basketball.
