QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University men's tennis team capped off its non-conference schedule with a dominant 7-0 sweep over Missouri Valley College on Sunday (April 6) at the Quincy Racquet Club. The win moves the Hawks to 11-6 on the season and provides strong momentum heading into Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

The Hawks opened the match by taking two out of three doubles courts to claim the opening point. The pairing of Gianni Lopez and Rodrigo Coello Treviño set the tone at No. 2 doubles with a 6-2 victory, while the No. 1 tandem of Inigo Villacampa and Joseph Restrepo battled through a tiebreaker to earn a 7-6 (7-3) win. Missouri Valley took the final doubles match on court three, but Quincy carried a 1-0 lead into singles action.

In singles, the Hawks were unstoppable, winning all six matches in straight sets. Reigning GLVC Player of the Week Inigo Villacampa rolled past Alecson Deschamps 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Restrepo delivered a commanding 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2. Gianni Lopez, Gerard Abad Puig, Rodrigo Coello Treviño, and Pablo Mateos Niella rounded out the sweep with strong performances from courts three through six, each defeating their opponents in straight sets. 

Quincy now turns its attention to GLVC play, beginning with a home matchup against William Jewell College on Thursday, April 11. First serve from the Quincy Racquet Club is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
