Springfield, Mo. - The Quincy University STUNT team rounded out their tournament play on Sunday evening (Apr. 6) after a game each against Southwest Baptist University and Missouri Baptist University. The Hawks overtook the Bearcats 8-0 but fell to a seasoned Spartans squad 18-0.
Southwest Baptist (W, 8-0)
Quincy took the first two points of the partner stunt round, taking an early 2-0 lead over the Bearcats. Neither team scored points in round two, and the Hawks maintained their lead through halftime. Quincy scored two of three possible points in the jumps and tumbling round before gearing up for their team routines. The Hawks took four points in the final quarter, shutting out the Bearcats 8-0.
Missouri Baptist (L, 18-0)
Missouri Baptist came out with heat in one of the last matches of the weekend. The Spartans scored three of four points in both the partner stunt and pyramid rounds of the first half, taking a 6-0 lead over the Hawks. After halftime, they then went perfect through round three, and geared up for a perfect routine one and routine four in the team round to take victory over the Hawks 18-0,
Quincy will face Missouri Valley College in one week and will bring some STUNT action to campus with a home game. The Hawks will kick off the inaugural home game at 2 p.m. in Pepsi Arena.
