Wagner Sets Career Mark, Ham Hits 100 in Gritty Effort vs. Rockhurst

Quincy, IL – Facing adversity head-on, the Quincy Hawks showed incredible resilience on Saturday (Apr. 13) as they took the field with just ten players in a tough match up against the visiting Rockhurst Hawks. Although the final score favored Rockhurst, 20–5, the game was filled with standout individual performances and key program milestones that proved the Hawks' fight and heart are as strong as ever.

In goal, Madison Whiting Wagner delivered a heroic effort, notching a career-high 18 saves and collecting 9 ground balls. Her presence between the pipes was critical in the early going, holding Rockhurst to just four goals in the opening quarter and giving the Hawks time to settle into the game.

On the offensive end, Amelia Ham hit a significant career milestone, scoring her 100th career goal, an incredible achievement. Ham finished the game with 3 goals and an assist, continuing to lead by example with her scoring touch and play-making ability.

Anni Moran added 2 goals and was dominant at the draw, securing 6 draw controls and giving Quincy key possessions throughout the game. Defensively, Chloe Drago was a force, causing 5 turnovers and consistently disrupting Rockhurst's offensive rhythm.

The game also marked an important step for developing players, as athletes like Piper Douglas recorded their first stats at home—a sign of the team's growing depth and continued development even in the face of a short roster.

The Hawks will look to bounce back and build on these positives when they return to QU Stadium this Thursday (Apr. 17) for a 3:00 PM match up against the Bearcats of McKendree University.
