QUINCY, Ill. — The Quincy University women's tennis team returned to Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Saturday afternoon (April 12) , falling 7-0 to visiting Rockhurst University at Reservoir Park.
The Hawks struggled to gain momentum in doubles action as Rockhurst swept all three courts. Mahi Panchal and Katrin Ismailova fell 6-1 at No. 1, while Ana Alvarez and Anna Matino dropped a 6-3 decision at No. 2. The visitors completed the doubles sweep with a 6-0 result on court three.
In singles play, Rockhurst maintained control across all six positions. Panchal picked up three games in her second set but ultimately fell 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1. Ismailova was battling in a competitive match at No. 2, taking the first set 6-3 before trailing 5-3 in the second when she was forced to retire due to injury.
The remaining matches went Rockhurst's way in straight sets. Alvarez fell 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, Matino dropped a 6-0, 6-2 result at No. 4, and both Nora Hennessy and Brittney Kelly were defeated 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

Quincy will look to bounce back on Thursday, April 18, when the Hawks travel to Springfield, Missouri, to take on Drury University in another GLVC matchup. First serve is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
