STUNT Records First Program Win in Victory over Norse

Nashville, Tenn. - The Quincy University STUNT team made history late Friday evening (Mar. 28) with their first program win. The Hawks overtook the Northern Kentucky Norse in a 12-4 decision in the Music City Classic after falling 22-0 to the UT-Martin Skyhawks.

vs. UT-Martin (22-0, loss)
The Skyhawks are in their third season, and their maturity showed in Friday's contest. UT-Martin scored three points in partner stunts but scored all four possible points in the pyramid and tosses round, leading the Hawks 7-0 going into halftime. The Skyhawks only faltered on one point for the remainder of the game, losing one of the three points awarded during the fourth routine of the team stunt category. Quincy could not best the Skyhawks, falling 22-0.

vs. Northern Kentucky (12-4 win)
The Hawks first program win was a bit of a battle come the second quarter. Though Quincy took two of the partner stunt points, Northern Kentucky took the first point in the pyramid and tosses round to cut the deficit. Each team took a point in routine three under the pyramid and tosses round, but Quincy was able to gain a lead with the first two points in the jumps and tumbling round. The Hawks scored six points in the team routine rounds, enough to push past the Norse 12-4.

Quincy will return Saturday morning for a game against Concordia Irvine and will cap off the night with host Trevecca Nazarene.
