STUNT Competes at Missouri Baptist Invite

St. Louis, Mo. - The Quincy University STUNT team competed in its second weekend of games this past weekend (Mar. 14-15). The Hawks were bested in three contests and had to cancel their game against Central Methodist due to some tough storms. Quincy fell to Missouri Valley 17-4, Maryville 19-0, and Concordia University Chicago 10-6.

Quincy faced the Vikings of Missouri Valley on Friday evening to kick off the weekend and competed in their first 16-round game in program history. The Vikings took the first two points of the game during the partner stunts round. Quincy fell short in pyramids and tosses, and the Vikings took all four points in the round. The Hawks got their first point of the weekend during routine one of the tumbling and jumps round, and claimed two points in the team routine to round out their four points in the game.

Quincy had a tough go against Maryville to cap the evening. The Saints pulled 19 of 24 possible points in the match. Storms overnight knocked the power out at Missouri Baptist, and the Hawks had to cancel their game against the Eagles.

The Hawks faced a familiar foe in Concordia Chicago on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks started off the competition well, gaining their first point in the first round doing routine one. Quincy pulled two more points in the tumbling and jumps round, one each during routine one and routine three. Quincy gained three more points during the team routine, one each in routines 1, 2, and 3.

The Hawks look forward to their Nashville trip at the end of March where they will face UT Martin, Northern Kentucky, Concordia Irvine, and Trevecca Nazarene.
