JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Hawks dropped a GLVC contest on the road at Lincoln on Saturday (Feb. 15), remaining within striking distance in the first half before a shooting just 27% from the field in the final 20 minutes to fall by a 93-60 final score.
El Sieger led the way for Quincy in scoring pouring in 18 points with a pair of three pointers while
Camren Kincaid, despite giving up a good deal in the height department, finished just a rebound shy of a double-double, adding 10 points and a team-leading nine boards.
Jake Hamilton got Quincy on the board with a three-pointer off a feed from
Logan Robbins as the sides entered the first media timeout of the half at a 7-7 tie. A pair of Kincaid free throws put the Hawks ahead shortly after until the Blue Tigers went on a 16-2 run over the next four or so minutes to build a 23-11 lead.
Later in the frame, the Hawks used a 9-2 run to close the margin to 34-29 with just over five minutes on the clock. A
Max Booher three-ball at the 1:38 mark concluded the scoring in the half, and found QU trailing 41-35.
A jumper from Robbins and another strike from deep for Booher trimmed the deficit to three points less than a minute into the second half, prompting a 19-1 swing from Lincoln to blow the game wide open at 62-41 with 15:20 to go.
It was tough sledding for the Hawks from there, as LU, who receieved votes in the latest national poll, continued to apply pressure all the way to the end, dealing QU a tough 93-60 defeat.
