ROLLA, Mo. - The Quincy University women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to eight straight matches on Friday night, earning a clean 3–0 sweep over Missouri S&T on the road in Rolla. With the result, the Hawks improved to 21–5 overall and 10–2 in GLVC play as they march into the final weekend of the regular season.
The opening frame was a back-and-forth battle, as both teams exchanged points without allowing the other to pull away. Trailing 12–11, Quincy capitalized on three straight S&T errors as part of a four-point run to take a 15–12 lead. The Miners responded with a burst of their own to jump ahead 20–19, but the Hawks closed strong, taking six of the final nine points behind timely kills and a late push from the pin hitters.
