McAneney Delivers Hawks’ Second GLVC Special Teams Player of the Week Recognition This Year

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Freshman kicker Conor McAneney has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Special Teams Player of the Week after playing a pivotal role in Quincy's dramatic 34–33 overtime victory over William Jewell.

McAneney came up clutch in the fourth quarter, connecting on his first two career field goal attempts from 44 and 45 yards to keep the Hawks in the game. He also converted all three of his first career point-after-touchdown (PAT) attempts and handled kickoff duties, sending the ball off six times with three going for touchbacks.

The honor marks McAneney's first career GLVC weekly award. He becomes just the sixth Hawk ever to earn GLVC Special Teams Player of the Week recognition and the second this season, joining fellow kicker Kiko Moreno, who won the award earlier this year after his performance against Lincoln.

McAneney and the Hawks will be back in action on Saturday, October 18, when they travel to Truman State to take on the Bulldogs at Stokes Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:30 PM as Quincy looks to build on its momentum and extend its GLVC road winning streak to four.
