Quincy, Ill. - The Quincy University women's basketball team won their third game in a row on Saturday (Feb. 3) over William Jewell. A packed crowd and another stellar night from
Cymirah Williams helped the Hawks to a 73-60 victory.
The Hawks wasted no time in their pursuit for points on Saturday, scoring eight before William Jewell could get on the board. The Hawks pushed the lead to 18 during the first half of play, helped by
Mariann Blass's thirteen first-half points and ten rebounds from
Acheampomaa Danso.
Despite the Cardinals' success from the arc in the past, the Hawks limited them to just six, under their average per game of 7.5 three pointers. The Hawks posted a season high 51 rebounds with the help from Williams (15) and Danso (10). Three Hawks scored in the doubles--Blass, Williams, and
Janiece Dawson.
The Hawks are on a high going into their final month of games, starting with a short trip to St. Louis to play McKendree and Missouri-St. Louis. The Hawks will face the Bearcats on Thursday with the Tritons to follow on Saturday.
