St. Louis, Mo. - The Quincy University women's soccer team concluded their 2024 season with a 3-0 loss to the Maryville Saints on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 3). The Hawks faced a season-high 30 shots from the eighth-ranked team in the nation.
The Saints were busy from the start having scored in the first minute of play. The Hawks didn't see much action in Maryville's half until after the Saints scored their second goal in the 20th minute. Junior
Ella Wolfard took a shot that was blocked by the Saints halfway through the half for the Hawks' lone shot of the period.
Megan Jette took the second rip for the Hawks in the second half, this time sending the ball just wide. Maryville scored their final goal of the game toward the end of the half after taking 24 shots until that point.
Julia Mincher played her last game as a Hawk with an 11-save performance.
The Hawks finished the season 4-10-3, 4-7-3 in conference. The Hawks improved on their 2023 campaign by keeping 23 more shots out of the net and kept six losses within one goal.
Ella Wolfard led the Hawks with four goals and one assist and sophomore
Reegan Hess was not too far away with three goals and one assist. Mincher now takes the third place spot in the Quincy women's soccer record book for number of saves in a single season with 100 saves.
