Hawks Celebrate Senior Day against Maryville

Quincy, Ill. – The Quincy University women's lacrosse team celebrated senior day against No. 14 Maryville on Sunday (Apr. 16). The Hawks were outscored 20-5 in their last home game of the season.
 
Danielle Robinson started the game with a quick goal to put the Hawks ahead of the nationally ranked Saints. The momentum didn't last long, as Maryville put two shots in to take the lead. Josie Szmanda added to the Hawks' tally with an unassisted goal in the second quarter. At the end of the period she sent the ball to Patricia Chavira who scored the third goal of the contest. Chavira scored free position shots in each of the last two quarters of the contest to round out the Hawks goals. Kelly McClure had a 15-save performance Sunday, giving her 31 saves for the weekend. 
 
The Hawks celebrated three members of the inaugural class of Quincy University women's lacrosse players.
 
Gracie Hrabusicky played in 18 matches during her three years in a Quincy uniform. She scored one goal off of four shots. The Smithton, Illinois, native transitioned into a student assistant coaching role for her senior season and has made a huge impact on the program.
 
Megan Ganninger has played in 31 games so far in her career at Quincy University. The defender from St. Louis, Missouri, picked up 38 ground balls and caused 16 turnovers in her tenure as a Hawk.
 
Bianca Johnson was the final senior celebrated. The attack from St. Louis, Missouri, played in 48 games, scoring 78 goals and 22 assists. Johnson celebrated her 100th point against Rockhurst University on April 8th. She has picked up 62 ground balls and secured 42 draw controls in her career.
 
The Hawks take the road against No. 6 University of Indianapolis Friday (Apr. 21) to begin their final weekend of the regular season.
