SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio. – The Hawks (2-5) hit the road once again to begin a three game east coast swing against the Notre Dame College Falcons (1-5) out of the Mountain East Conference. Despite having a three goal lead in the 2nd quarter, QU fell to the Falcons by the score of 11-8.
After the Falcons scored in the opening minute, Josie Szmanada scored twice in thirteen seconds to give the Hawks a lead. Danielle Robinson made it 3-1 Hawks on an assist from Patricia Chavira at the 10:39 mark. Amelia Ham helped QU regain its two-goal lead with five minutes left in the opening quarter as she received a pass from Mikenna Ham. Szmanada completed her hat trick to give the Hawks the 5-3 lead after NDC scored.
Bianca Johnson gave QU its first 3 goal lead early in the 2nd quarter. Over the next two quarters, the Falcons scored 7 unanswered goals to take a 10-6 lead into the final stanza. Robinson cut the deficit in half with back-to-back goals in the quarter, but NDC scored with two minutes left for an insurance goal.
