MELBOURNE, Fla. – The women's lacrosse team wrapped up their Florida trip under the lights on March 15th against the Florida Tech Panthers. The Panthers scored the first nine goals of the contest and ended up defeating the Hawks by the score of 17-6.
After trailing 9-0, Josie Szmanda got QU on the board at the 8:41 mark of the 2nd quarter on the assist from Ainslie Reynolds. The Hawks trailed 11-1 at the halftime break, but would score the first two goals of the 3rd quarter thanks to Szmanda and Danielle Robinson.
Florida Tech would extend their lead to 16-3 into the early part of the final quarter. Patricia Chavira made it 16-4 at the 7:45 mark of the quarter. Three minutes later, Amelia Ham found the scoring column to get the Hawks to within 11. Robinson scored her second of the game to make it 16-6 with under 3 minutes to go.
