Wisconsin Dells, Wis. - Despite a fast start for the Hawks in their final game of 2023, the Wildcats of Northern Michigan University struck hard in the second quarter, overtaking the game 82-56.
Cymirah Williams started the Hawks off quickly with a driving jumper in the paint. Quincy kept the Wildcats off the scoreboard for the first three minutes of the game, and kept the lead after the first frame.
Northern Michigan found its groove in the second quarter, taking the lead and pushing it to 16 points. The Wildcats scored all but two of those points from down low.
The Hawks pressed on, but the Wildcats continued to break through the Hawks defense. Williams led the Hawks with 19 points.
The Hawks will travel to Rockhurst after the holiday break for a doubleheader with the men's team on January 3rd.
