LEBANON, ILL.- The Quincy University Women's Volleyball team were on the road once again, traveling to Mckendree University to take on the Bearcats in a GLVC conference showdown. The Hawks continued their winning ways sweeping McKendree with the exact same score for both sides in all three sets (25-21).

Set 1
The first set was a tightly contested one early on. The Hawks jumped out to an early 7-3 lead off two kills from
Emma Wijnbergen, another from
Mattison Norris and an attacking error by the Bearcats. Mckendree rallied back later in the set taking advantage of two Quincy attacking errors to grab their only lead of the set at 9-8. After evening the score on a kill from
Alice Pavan it was all Hawks never surrendering the lead again enroute to a 25-21 set victory.

Set 2
Mckendree put up a hard fight in the second set that saw 12 ties and five lead changes. MCK got the scoring started opening up a 2-0 advantage. Quincy quickly evened the score and the nearly match long joust for position ensued. The Hawks took a two point lead at 14-12 on another kill from Wijnbergen off a feed from
Makayla Knoblauch, one of her 41 dishes in the match. The Bearcats did their best to keep up but QU hit their stride late in the set opening up a 23-19 lead off a four point run. Quincy went on to roll the set 25-21.

Set 3
The final set of the match saw both squads go on runs. Tied at 6-6 early in the set, the Hawks took the initiative grabbing five of the next six points to open an 11-7 capped off by a kill from
Emily Rehagen, one of her team leading 13 kills in the contest. Quincy spread the advantage to as many as six, but just when it seemed the Hawks had things under control the Bearcats surged back to life drawing within one at 20-19 late in the set. QU took the reins from there closing out the sweep 25-21.

With this victory, the Hawks continue their heater moving to 14-0 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. Quincy is now one of only two remaining undefeated teams in all of Division II. QU shares the honor with nationally ranked #1 Wayne State College who sits at 16-0.

Quincy will play host to the Greyhounds of University of Indianapolis next Friday, September 30 for a 6:00 p.m. GLVC showdown.
