Arkadelphia, Ark. – The Quincy University Women's Volleyball team opened their regular season at the Reddie – Tiger Invitational. In the morning session, they defeated Kentucky Wesleyan College in straight sets (25-10, 25-11, 25-16). In their second match of the day, they pulled off their 2nd sweep of the day over Auburn University – Montgomery (25-17, 25-11, 32-30).
Match 1 vs Kentucky Wesleyan College
The Hawks opened set 1 on a 7-1 run and never looked back. The set got to 13-6 in favor of Quincy, that lead was widened thanks to a 10-0 run to make it 23-6. Mark Jones' team hit at an outstanding .550 attack percentage with 12 kills and only one error. Emily Rehagen led the way with seven kills in the opening set.
Set two was much of the same story as the Hawks jumped out to a huge lead. Thanks to a couple of kills by Mattison Norris, Quincy had a 7-2 lead. On an Alice Pavan service ace, the lead grew to a nine point margin. The Hawks would take the second set by the score of 25-11. They were led by Norris who had five kills in the set.
The third set was back and forth as neither team couldn't get more than a point cushion. Three straight aces by Rehagen gave the Hawks a 16-13 lead. The Hawks took advantage of the Panther miscues to take the match in straight sets as they won 25-16.

Match 2 vs Auburn University – Montgomery
The Hawks picked right back up how they ended the 1st match as they jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the first set. The lead would be extended out to 13-4 on a kill by Alice Pavan. The Warhawks got as close as 17-14, but the Hawks kept them out of reach as they took the first set 25-17.
QU and AUM were tied at 6 in the early part of set two. Quincy gained control of the lead and never looked back in the middle set. They would only allow 5 more points by the Warhawks and took the set in dominating fashion by the score of 25-11.
The 3rd set was a marathon between the two sides. The whole set was back and forth as neither team could more than a 2 point cushion. Down 24-22 late in the set, the Hawks took advantage of kills by Emma Wijnbergen and Mattison Norris to force extra volleyball. A kill by Wijnbergen sealed the deal for the Hawks to complete the sweep.
