Quincy, Ill. – The Quincy University Softball team hosted the William Jewell Cardinals on Sunday (4/24) afternoon for a GLVC doubleheader and won both games by the scores of 2-0 and 3-1. This is the Hawks first GLVC sweep on their home dirt since May 1, 2021.
GAME 1
This game started as a pitchers' duel between
Jayle Jennings and Kenzie Jones as there was a combined 6 hits allowed through the first 4.5 innings. Jennings helped her own cause with a 2 out, 2-run double to left field that scored
Mykah Hurley and
Audrey Hermann.
After throwing the no-hitter on Saturday, Jennings was flawless once again. She struck out 5 Cardinals, while allowing 6 hits. She also recorded 14 ground outs.

GAME 2
The Hawks went to
Jayle Jennings in the circle for game 2 as she had the hot arm. Jennings scattered 5 hits over the four innings she threw, while striking out one.
The Cardinals struck first in the top of the 6
th on a Kenzie Jones double to right center. In the bottom of the 7
th, Hurley laid down a perfect bunt for a single. The next batter, Jennings singled to the pitcher that advanced Hurley to 2
nd. With one out,
Allyson Maynard walked the game off with a 3-run home run to the right field.
