Quincy, Ill. – The Quincy University Baseball team kicked off their weekend series against the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds. The Hawks took game 1 by the score of 14-4 (F/7).
The offense got started with a
Dayson Croes home run to right field. The Greyhounds took the lead in the top of the 2
nd with a ground out and an RBI single.
In the bottom of the 3
rd, the offense scored 9 runs on 6 hits. Reigning GLVC Player of the Week got the inning started with a sac fly to right field that scored
Lance Logsdon. The next batter was
Zach Parks who made it 4-2 with a 2 RBI single to center field. With Parks on first,
Luke Napleton hit a 2-run home run to left center. The Hawks would go back-to-back as
Brock Boynton went to right center to make it 7-2.
Gino D'Alessio wrapped up the offense in the inning with a 3 run home run to left field to make it 10-2 Hawks.
The Greyhounds scored 2 runs in the top of the 7
th to make it 10-4.
In the bottom of the inning, Napleton hit his 2
nd home run of the game to make it 12-4.
Lance Logsdon singled to right field that scored
Kade Burns. D'Alessio hit a bloop shot to shallow center field that scored
Joe Roscetti.
