Quincy, IL—The Hawks hosted the Upper Iowa University Peacocks at QU Stadium on Friday evening (March 4
th) set a program record in goals as they won 28-4.
The offense came in bunches during the opening stanza of the match as
Danielle Robinson scored just 15 seconds into the match. Robinson would score the next 4 goals after that to make it 5-0 Hawks.
Bianca Johnson would get in on the scoring act to score the next 3 to make it 8-0 Quincy after the 1
st quarter.
The Hawks kept the offense rolling in the 2
nd quarter, with
Bianca Johnson extending the lead to 9-0. Upper Iowa would get on the board just under 3 minutes into the quarter, but the Hawks would answer right back to make it 10-1. As the quarter was winding down,
Josephina Szmanda added two goals to give Quincy a 14 goal lead at 15-1.
Coming out of the halftime break,
Patricia Chavira scored just 45 seconds in to make it 16-1 Hawks. Daniele Robinson would score 3 of the Hawks' 7 goals in the period. Through 3 quarters, the Hawks led the Peacocks 22-3.
Just 90 seconds into the final frame, Robinson would tie her career and program high in goals with her 11
th of the contest. About halfway through the quarter,
Grace Hrabusicky scored her first career goal to make it 26-3 Hawks. With 2 minutes left in the contest, Robinson sets a new program record with her 12
th goal of the match to make it 27-4.
