Macomb, Ill.—The Quincy University Women's Tennis team traveled north on Tuesday (3/29) to take on Division one Western Illinois University and came up just short by the score of 4-3.

In doubles action, Blanca Salas Cruz and Katrin Ismailova got the Hawks started off strong with a 6-3 win over Lorena Castellanos and Maria Rybka. During 2 doubles, Steffi Lao and Juliana Vidal fell 6-3 to Aina Cortina-Pou and Lucky Kancherla. The Leathernecks would take the doubles point as Paige Grice and Agatha Carbonell defeated Paula Martinez and Kori Kay Obert with a 6-1 win.

The Hawks started off singles action strong as Salas Cruz won in 3 sets. Steffi Lao and Katrin Ismailova won their respective matches in straight sets. During the 4 singles match, Paige Grice defeated Juliana Vidal in 3 sets. Paula Martinez and Nora Hennesy lost their matches in straight sets.
