MUNCIE, IN – The Hawks went on the road to Muncie, Indiana in a MIVA contest against the eighth-ranked Ball State Cardinals and fell in straight sets 3-0 (22-25, 17-25, 19-25).
SET 1
The Cardinals jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Late in the set, the Hawks pulled to within a point a few different times but could never get over that hump. Ball State would go on to take 1
st set 25-22.
Francisco Salinger led the match with 6 kills in the opening set.
SET 2
Quincy would come out with a good mindset in the set as they jumped out to a 7-3 lead. From that point forward, the Cardinals would take the lead at 9-8. Ball State was able to string some kills together and the lead grew to 15-11. The Cardinals took this set by the score of 25-17.
SET 3
During the 3
rd set, both teams traded points with the Cardinals keeping a slim lead through most of the set. The Hawks would tie the set at 17, then at 19 once more. From that point, the Cardinals would score the final 6 points to take the set and the match.
