QUINCY, IL---The Quincy men's lacrosse team topped Benedictine College 9-7 on Wednesday (Feb 16) afternoon at QU Stadium. 

Quincy led 3-0 with 9:57 left in the first quarter after Jordan Ernst scored his second goal of the game (scored his first 54 second into the game). 

The Ravens then scored two unanswered goals but QU held a 3-2 advantage after the opening quarter. 

Nick Woodworth scored about four and a half minutes to extend the Hawks lead back to two goals at 4-2 with 10:24 left in the second, and QU led 5-2 at halftime. 

The Ravens scored three of the next four goals in the third quarter and came cut the Hawks lead to 6-5 with just 8:10 left in the third quarter. 

Preston Willman answered to extended QU's lead to 7-5 with 6:09 left in the third, but BC answered a few minutes later and it was a 7-6 Hawks lead headed into the fourth quarter. 

Quincy scored the first two goals of the fourth and took a 9-6 lead after Neal Dardis scored with 3:51 remaining in regulation. BC scored the final goal with under three minutes to play, but QU fended off the Ravens and earned the victory 

Lowrance scored two goals, and Jayme Brain added two assists while Dardis had one goal and two assists. Ernst paced the offense with four goals and now has 10 in the last two games. 

Ryan Riggs earned the victory in goal after making 14 saves during his 60 miniutes in the cage for QU.
