HILLSDALE, Mich. – The QU women's basketball team fell 64-57 in overtime against Ursuline College on Saturday (Nov. 12) in their season opener.
Beth Matas Martin led the Hawks with 15 points as she was 6-11 from the field and 2-4 from beyond the arc.
Cymirah Williams had a double double as she led the team with 11 rebounds while also scoring 13 points.
QU shot 37.5% from the field, only making three three-pointers on 14 attempts (21.4%) and shot 12 free-throws throughout the game.
Quincy had 26 points in the paint, and 24 points off the bench. Despite a good showing from its bench, the Hawks turned the ball over 28 times which led to 21 Ursuline points, and they were outscored 12-6 on fast break points.
Ursuline shot 35.6% from the field and hit 5 three-pointers on 23 attempts (21.7%), while they made 17 of 23 attempts from the free-throw line (73.9%).
